To celebrate the launch on March 25 of ‘Mad Men’ Series 5 (the fictional drama based in a 1960s New York advertising agency) this special retro issue has been designed in true 1960s style, complete with Newsweek logo and magazine layout of 1965. Even our advertisers have joined in with 1960s style advertisements.

It reflects a time when Newsweek covers featured Kennedy and Nixon’s 1960 campaign trail, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the ‘French Revolution’ of 1968 and of course the moon landing of 1969.

And today of course we’re still offering news, analysis and commentary from some of the world’s best international journalists.
